South Africans are perplexed as to why singer Kelly Khumalo has remained unarrested concerning the Senzo Meyiwa murder investigation. Contrary to public expectation, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has not sanctioned her arrest.

The singer was named in the ongoing trial of Senzo Meyiwa’s murder as the person who orchestrated the murder of the player. One of the accused pointed at Kelly Khumalo as the person who hired and paid for Senzo Meyiwa to be shot.

Allegations Against Khumalo

In a recent court session at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, compelling evidence surfaced implicating Khumalo in Meyiwa’s tragic demise. Brigadier Bongani Gininda, the case’s lead investigator, revealed that Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi, two of the accused, pointed fingers at Khumalo as the mastermind behind Meyiwa’s assassination.

According to Gininda, cellphone analysis unearthed a photograph in Khumalo’s phone gallery depicting a transparent bag filled with cash, resembling a photo discovered in the third accused’s phone. Gininda emphasized that this evidence suggested Khumalo’s deep-seated resentment towards Meyiwa, motivating her to orchestrate his murder.

Reasons for Khumalo’s Non-Arrest

Despite efforts by the police, including a warrant request in November 2020, Khumalo has evaded arrest due to the NPA’s reluctance to greenlight her detention. Gininda revealed that a decision was made to charge five individuals, excluding Khumalo, although further investigations regarding her involvement were deemed necessary.
