According to reports, five individuals who are believed to be connected to the assassination of the rapper and his friend Tibz were taken into custody in Cape Town on Sunday.
Following news of the arrests, Tony Forbes reached out to the authorities for information on the situation.
Tony was en route from Johannesburg to Cape Town when the news broke.
In a statement, he did not disclose what the police had informed him.
He instead stated his fervent hope that justice would be served and the culprits would be held accountable.
“We would like to see justice being served and the perpetrators brought to book. He’s gone. Someone killed him. Right now, we are grieving. We are keeping an eye on developments in the news and hoping that something positive will happen …,” AKA’s father said.
Over the weekend, five suspects were taken into custody in connection with the murder of AKA, as reported by IOL.
Three of the suspects were arrested at an ATM located in Erica Square mall, Belhar, while the other two were arrested in a separate area within Belhar.
The suspects were being monitored by detectives from the Durban organised crime unit for a period of two weeks before their capture in Cape Town.
The arrest of the suspects comes after the discovery of a white Mercedes Benz that is believed to have been used as the getaway car by AKA’s killers, which was found abandoned in Umlazi township, situated in the southern part of Durban.
