The swearing-in of Madam Vice President Kamala Harris is causing great pride at this time. However, no one can deny Michelle Obama’s head-turning outfit.
Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton all dressed in a power color. They wore different shades of purple. According to Harpers Bazaar, the color purple is a significant color. The color which is a mix of red and blue evokes a sense of solidarity, bipartisanship, and unity, according to The Hill.
The former FLOTUS chose to wear at the inauguration celebrations a look from none another favorite young designer, Sergio Hudson. Mrs. Obama spent eight years as the first lady, wearing high fashion. She’s become a fashion icon, similar to the late first Jacquie Onassis. Obama continuously supported American fashion, using her position in the public eye to showcase the best in homegrown talent.
Walking hand in hand with husband Barack Obama, Michelle had all eyes on her. She wore a plum overcoat, turtleneck, wide-leg pants, and one of Hudson’s signature oversized belts. Obama put the spotlight on the Black designer.
