Historical Context of Road Safety Concerns

This incident is a stark reminder of similar tragedies in the past. For instance, in 2022, a devastating crash in Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal, resulted in the deaths of 21 people, including 19 students, when a truck collided with a minibus taxi transporting them home from school. Additionally, last year, a Grade 5 pupil died, and 80 others were injured in Limpopo when their school bus lost control returning from a sports event.
