Khawula’s Version of Events

Khawula explained that the incident occurred on Thursday, 29 June, when he visited Ndamase’s boyfriend, Leeroy Sandabe, at his office. Khawula had heard a story that he wanted to verify with Sandabe. He spoke to Sandabe over the phone and was invited to the office for a face-to-face conversation.

Upon arriving at the office, Khawula greeted Ndamase, but he soon realized she was upset with him. He recalled having previously called her mother a derogatory term, which angered her. Ndamase went to make herself a cup of coffee and had a brief conversation with Sandabe. Suddenly, she allegedly attacked Khawula with boiling water, followed by throwing phones and hitting him with an iPhone, causing injury to his eye.

When Khawula confronted Ndamase about his injuries, instead of showing sympathy, she allegedly threatened to harm him further. The office security guards intervened and broke up the fight, and Khawula left the building.
