Bongani Murdah Bongz Mohosana and Brenden Praise proudly represent South Africa as they leave their mark on the official soundtrack of the highly anticipated musical adaptation of The Color Purple.
The Color Purple, based on Alice Walker’s acclaimed novel and a 2005 stage production by Marsha Norman, is set to debut in theatres worldwide on January 18, 2024.

DJ and producer Mörda, alongside singer Brenden, has joined a distinguished lineup of artists that includes Mary J Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Taraji P Henson, Keyshia Cole, October London, Coco Jones, Halle Bailey, Jorja Smith, Mary Mary, and others, contributing to their track.

Both stars receive credit for their remix of Tamela Mann’s ‘Mysterious Ways’ on the soundtrack. The Color Purple is making waves in Hollywood, and the two South African stars are honoured to be a part of it.
Artist’s Excitement on the Soundtrack
Mörda expressed his excitement and pride when breaking the news to his followers on Monday.
“What an honor and privilege it is to be part of The Color Purple movie. Contributing musically to a film is a dream come true, contributing to a film as huge as The Color Purple is mind-blowing. Thank you for giving me that.
“I must thank Gamma, Asante Music, and all who helped make this happen. Brenden Praise and I are very excited to be part of a remix that already sounded so amazing. The Color Purple soundtrack is out now.”
Brenden Praise also shared on his Instagram celebrating his first movie soundtrack credit. He went on to thank Murdah Bongz for choosing him to work with.
