A shocking revelation has emerged from Polokwane, Limpopo, where resident Sello Bonoko accuses well-known ‘Skeem Saam’ actor Sebasa Mogale, also a former Thobela FM presenter, of negatively impacting his life through an alleged bitcoin scam amounting to over R200,000.

Investment Gone Wrong

Bonoko claims that Mogale, known for portraying Dr. Hlongwane on ‘Skeem Saam,’ and his business partner-turned-politician Mpho Dagada, enticed him into investing in their bitcoin company by promising lucrative monthly returns. Convinced by these assurances, Bonoko left his job as a truck driver and invested his pension fund into their Mining City scheme in 2020.

Allegations of Fraud

However, allegations have surfaced against Mogale and Dagada, now a prominent politician with Rise SA, accusing them of defrauding numerous clients through their scheme, which included advertising on Thobela FM.

Bonoko has shared WhatsApp conversations where he pleaded with Mogale for a refund. Mogale, in response, explained the business details and clarified that the funds did not go directly to him but to Mining City. He directed Bonoko to contact Mining City via email.

Legal Disappointments and Personal Struggles

Despite Bonoko’s efforts, the court reportedly dismissed his case last year. The financial strain resulting from the failed investment allegedly led to the breakdown of his marriage, as his wife left, taking their children with her.

Bonoko expressed dissatisfaction with South African law enforcement, claiming that he provided all necessary documents to the investigating officer without any action taken.

Police Confirmation and Actor’s Response

Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe confirmed the complexity of the case but assured that it is receiving due attention. Hadebe urged Bonoko to remain patient with the police.

Mogale stated that he referred the matter to his legal team when contacted for comment. However, as of the time of publishing, no response had been received.
