Kelly Khumalo Lashes Out On Social Media To Netizens Rejoicing Over Her Pain
Kelly Khumalo, a South African singer, has been venting her frustration on Twitter after she was dropped from two events due to the public outcry over the Senzo Meyiwa trial. Senzo Meyiwa, a former soccer star and Kelly’s ex-boyfriend, was killed in 2014 at Kelly’s house. The trial has revealed new evidence that implicates Senzo’s estranged wife, Mandisa Mkhize, as the mastermind behind the murder.
Why Kelly Khumalo was removed from DSTV Delicious Festival and Idols SA finale
One of the events that cancelled Kelly’s performance was the DSTV Delicious Festival, a food and music extravaganza that was scheduled for this weekend. The festival announced on Wednesday that it had withdrawn Kelly from the line-up due to the “public sentiment” surrounding the Senzo Meyiwa trial. The festival said it wanted to deliver an event that everyone could enjoy.
Another event that axed Kelly from its line-up was the Idols SA finale, which was supposed to take place on Sunday. The show’s producers said they had taken note of the developments in the trial and decided to remove Kelly from the show.

Both events faced backlash from fans who demanded that Kelly be cancelled for her alleged involvement in Senzo’s death. Some fans accused Kelly of profiting from Senzo’s death by featuring it in her reality show, Life with Kelly. Others compared her situation to Sjava, a singer who was cancelled for allegedly raping another singer, Lady Zamar.

She said she was not affected by the cancellations and that God had bigger plans for her. She also thanked her loyal fans for their support and love.
Kelly also clapped back at the trolls who were mocking her and rejoicing in her challenges. She told one user who taunted her: “Oksalayo for shit! Why Kelly Khumalo will not testify in Senzo Meyiwa trial
The Senzo Meyiwa trial has been making headlines as new witnesses and suspects have been named in court. The prosecution has alleged that Senzo was killed by a hitman hired by his estranged wife, Mandisa Mkhize, who wanted to collect his life insurance. Kelly has denied any involvement in the murder and said she was also a victim of the shooting.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that Kelly will not be testifying in the trial as yet. NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwema said: “She is not part of our witnesses at this stage. We have not subpoenaed her.”
Kelly has previously said that she was willing to cooperate with the authorities and that she wanted justice for Senzo. She has also accused the police of bungling the investigation and failing to protect her.
