“I Don’t Want No Problems”| Emtee Files For Divorce

Rapper Emtee, real name Mthembeni Ndevu, has reportedly initiated divorce proceedings from his wife and mother of his kids, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy.

According to TshisaLIVE, the artist behind the hit song “Manando,” submitted a divorce petition in April, which happened to be the same month when he was dealing with his assault case, which his wife subsequently withdrew.

An insider shared that Emtee has vacated the residence he once shared with Nicole and is currently residing with a friend in Fourways.

However, when asked about the claims, Emtee did not share much.

“I haven’t moved out completely yet. It is what is. I don’t want no problems,” the rapper said.

In March, the father-of-two revealed to Zimoja that he is leaving his marriage and he is moving out of their home.

“I have not been home much to try and avoid conflict. She has been the one that has been abusive toward me for years. She hits me and then plays the victim,” the publication quoted him as saying.

Emtee further said that he does not want to end up in the same situation as the late rapper Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi who was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, in 2015.

“I am in the process of moving out. I realised we shouldn’t be together. She can stay in the house for the sake of the kids, but I can’t do this anymore. Things can become really bad and I don’t want this to be another Flabba situation. One mistake and something wrong might happen.”

According to Sunday World, the award-winning rapper appeared at the Midrand Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 2 May, where he was immediatly told to go home as his wife had withdrawn the assault charges against him, saying she forgives him.

In a statement by Nicole, she said that she forgives the musician for the sake of their two children, Avery and Logan, as well as their unborn baby.
