Renowned coach Pitso Mosimane is on the brink of a substantial financial gain, securing an impressive compensation of R22 million after winning his legal battle against his former Middle East football club, Al Ahli Jeddah. The FIFA tribunal ruled in favour of Mosimane, deeming his dismissal unfair and awarding him a substantial amount, which includes bonuses and outstanding salaries covering a period of five months.

Mosimane, who started his tenure with Al Ahli on September 24, 2022, signed a contract that was supposed to last until 2023, with an option for renewal. The 59-year-old tactician played a pivotal role in bringing Al Ahli back to the top tier after their unprecedented relegation. Notably, Mosimane strategically included a promotion clause in his contract, which entitled him to bonuses and an automatic contract extension upon achieving promotion.

During his coaching stint, Mosimane, who had previously managed Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns, faced a challenging period where he went unpaid for five months.

Inclusive Contract Details

Managed by his wife, Moira Tlhagale-Mosimane, Pitso’s contract featured additional perks, including four return business class flight tickets between Jeddah and Johannesburg. Currently, Mosimane is coaching Abha Club in Saudi Arabia under a contract that extends until the conclusion of the 2023/2024 season.

Coach Mosimane’s Journey

Mosimane began his coaching journey at SuperSport United on July 1, 2001, concluding on June 30, 2007. Since then, his career has soared, making him the only local coach to secure three CAF Champions League titles with football powerhouses Al Ahly and Sundowns.
