G4S Workers Accused Of Helping Thabo Bester Escape Prison Get Bail
The Thabo Bester prison escape saga continues to unfold as the latest developments emerged in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Three individuals, Joel Makhetha, Moeketsi Ramolula, and Thabang Mier, who are all G4S employees, were arrested on June 26. The arrests took place at their respective residences in Bloemfontein and Botshabelo.
12 Arrests Made So Far of people who helped Thabo Bester
With the recent apprehensions, the total number of individuals arrested in connection with Bester’s escape has now reached 12, including Bester himself. The investigation has been actively pursuing leads and bringing the involved parties to justice.
Thabo Bester’s Elaborate Escape
In May of last year, Thabo Bester managed to deceive authorities by faking his own death and successfully escaping from the Mangaung Correctional Centre, operated by G4S. This audacious act left the law enforcement agencies in shock and triggered an extensive manhunt to locate him.
Bester’s Capture in Tanzania
After evading authorities for almost two years, Bester was finally apprehended in April 2023. Tanzanian authorities in Arusha successfully tracked him down after he fled the country with his partner, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana.
Currently, the two lovers are being held in prison waiting for their court dates later in July. Eversince their capture, Thabo and Nandipha have not shown remorse for the crimes they committed. They have even trended for wearing fashionable clothes for their court appearances.
