Willard Katsande has landed a new job at SABC as he shared with his followers on Instagram in celebration.
Katsande’s association with football took a new turn when he assumed an analytical role at Sehukhune United after previously holding an administrative position. It remains uncertain whether he continues as Sehukhune’s brand ambassador.
Joining Sehukhune United at the commencement of the 2021/22 season, Katsande made a significant impact with 18 appearances. His contributions proved pivotal in the club’s successful fight against relegation during their debut season in the DStv Premiership.
Ambitions and Coaching Studies
Having retired from international football for the second time in 2019, Katsande voiced his aspirations of becoming a coach. In an interview with the Manica Post, he outlined plans to commence coaching studies in June 2020.
“I envision returning to the national team setup as a coach. My coaching studies are set to begin in June next year, and I aim to achieve the highest coaching badge before concluding my playing career,” said Katsande at the time.
Although it remains unclear whether Katsande attained his coaching qualifications, he reemerged in the football scene, this time as a football analyst for the SABC.

Expressing his excitement on Instagram, Willard Katsande shared the highlights of his first day as an SABC football analyst. In a video capturing his debut, he extended gratitude to Thabiso Mosia and Gloria Brown for their warm welcome.
