A former actress and model from the popular show ‘Skeem Saam’ has reportedly paid out a substantial amount, nearing half a million, in spousal support to her ex-husband. The details of this settlement emerged recently through a report by Sunday World.
‘Skeem Saam’ Star’s Generous Settlement
According to Sunday World, the actress, whose identity remains confidential, initiated divorce proceedings against her husband last year after a few years of marriage. The former couple, who did not share any children, reached an agreement that required the actress to provide financial support.
‘Skeem Saam’ Actress Pays Spousal Support
The publications indicate that the actress fulfilled her spousal support obligation by paying R360,000 for maintenance and an additional R120,000 for her ex-lover’s furniture. This agreement was made official last year, and legal documents confirm the compliance of both parties.
“In terms of cause 3 of the settlement agreement, the plaintiff agreed to pay the defendant a once-off spousal maintenance sum of R360,000 towards his accommodation.”
“In terms of clause 4, the plaintiff agreed to pay the defendant the sum of R120,000 towards his furniture and household necessities.”
“The plaintiff has already complied with clause 3 and 4 of the divorce settlement agreement and made a total payment of R480,000 to the defendant,” read the papers.
Mabu Marweshe of Marweshe Attorneys confirmed that he represented the former ‘Skeem Saam’ actress in the legal matter but refrained from providing further comments on the case.
