Fans Left Disappointed As Tickets For AKA’s Memorial Fly Off The Shelves Within Hours
AKA’s fans desiring to attend the late rapper’s memorial at Sandton Convention Centre were advised that they must get tickets online.
On Friday night, AKA and his long-time friend Tibz, real name Tebello Motsoane, were fatally shot, leading the rapper’s family to issue a statement on Tuesday disclosing details of his memorial and funeral services.
AKA, real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, will be interred at a private provincial funeral this Saturday. Prior to the burial, a memorial service is planned for the All Eyes On Me rapper on Friday, to honor his life and legacy.
While AKA’s memorial service will be streamed live on his official YouTube channel, AKAWorldWide, it is open to the public. However, for those wishing to attend the memorial in person at Sandton Convention Centre, tickets were available for purchase online.
The tickets which were made available on Webtickets from 1 pm on Tuesday, were sold out by 4 pm on the same day.
Some of AKA’s fans who could not get the tickets were left disappointed. Below are some of the comments on Twitter.

Also in the statement issued by AKA’s next of kin, Bongani Mohosana, known in music circles as Murdah Bongz or Mörda, is not attending the funeral service for cultural reasons.
“We’d also like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosanas for their unwavering support during this time, As Bongani Mohosana will be in absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol,” part of the statement reads.
