Dr Nandipha Denied Bail Because Of Her Sleek Makeup And Good Fashion Sense
Celebrity doctor Dr Nandipha Magudumana, known for her glamorous style, has been denied bail by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court. She was apprehended in Tanzania last April alongside her boyfriend, convicted rapist Thabo Bester, as they attempted to flee to Kenya.
Thabo Bester, who had feigned his own death at the Mangaung Correctional Centre, managed to escape in May 2022. It is alleged that Dr Nandipha played a role in coordinating Bester’s escape, leading the State to label her as the mastermind behind the scheme.
Magistrate’s Decision: Dr Nandipha a Flight Risk
Magistrate Estelle De Lange, presiding over the case, determined that Dr Nandipha Magudumana poses a significant flight risk. She stated, “The applicant is a flight risk, and no bail conditions will assist. I find that she didn’t satisfy the Court that she be released on bail. When she left, she knew she wouldn’t come back. The evidence points out that she left the country voluntarily. I find she is definitely a flight risk, and there are no bail conditions to limit this risk.”
“She didn’t satisfy the Court that she should be released. Therefore, the bail application is denied. I’m of the opinion bail conditions will NOT be enough to make her stand her trial. She will have more means to help Bester to escape. If she is released, she could facilitate another escape if she wants to.”
On-Fleek Make-Up And Designer Sweaters Throw Her Under The Bus
Magistrate De Lange further noted that Dr Nandipha did not provide compelling reasons for her release on bail. She highlighted that Dr. Nandipha consistently presented herself well in Court, indicating that she is adequately cared for in her current detention.
“Apart from saying she was kidnapped by Bester, there is nothing she brought forward to support that. The State, on the other hand, brought evidence to the contrary. Whenever she appeared, she was in good health and well-groomed. I’m sure her needs are met where she is detained. I have never received any concern about that.”
