Award-Winning Jazz Singer Gloria Bosman Dies

Gloria Bosman, an award-winning jazz singer from South Africa, has died at the age of 50.

Phil Kgopolo Mphela, an entertainment reporter, confirmed the news on Twitter:

“RIP: Gloria Bosman

Multi-award-winning musician Gloria Bosman has passed away. #RIPGloriaBosman”

A person close to Bosman also confirmed the sad news to the Sunday World.

The musician was born in Soweto and was very talented. She could sing jazz, African rock, and gospel music and was also a producer, composer, and presenter.

Gloria has released five albums that greatly impacted the music industry.

She released her first project called Tranquillity, which won the Best Newcomer award.

Tranquillity album was also nominated for Best Contemporary Jazz Album and Best Female Artist at the 2001 South African Music Awards. In total, she was nominated for 11 awards throughout her career.

Bosman shared the stage with other famous South African musicians, such as Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Moses Molelekwa, and Sipho’ Hotstix’ Mabuse.

Hotstix posted on Twitter to express his sorrow over the passing of Gloria Bosman.
