AKA’s Alleged Role In Nellie Tembe’s Death Revealed In Leaked Court Documents

According to a leaked letter sent from the Tembe family to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes reportedly pushed or threw Anele “Nellie” Tembe off the balcony of their hotel room at the Pepper Club hotel in Cape Town two years ago.

TM Incorporated Attorneys, the legal team representing the Tembe family, presented these allegations in a petition to the NPA in the Western Cape, iHarare reports.

The petition was filed after a comprehensive investigation into Anele’s death in June last year, which resulted in a decision not to prosecute the rapper.

In their appeal to reverse the initial decision, the Tembe family’s letter presents evidence that they believe was overlooked during the investigation.

This evidence includes a statement from a hotel receptionist, video footage of Anele’s fall, a witness statement from Rob Stefanutto who claims to have heard an argument between the rapper and his fiancé before her death, as well as evidence of an assault on Anele prior to her fall.

Additionally, the Tembe family highlights the inconsistencies between the time that AKA called the reception and the moment of Anele’s fall as shown in the video footage.

They also note that Anele landed five and a half meters away from the building, which they believe suggests that she was pushed or thrown.

Part of the letter reads:

The deceased landed at a distance that is consistent with a person that was pushed. She landed approximately five and a half meters away from the building, whereas if she had jumped on her own, she would have landed approximately two meters away from the building.

AKA and his friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, both lost their lives in a tragic shooting incident last Friday evening.

A public memorial service for the rapper will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre today, followed by a private funeral on Saturday.
