A Look At Former G4S Guard Senohe Matsoara’s “Soft Life” After Helping Thabo Bester Escape From Prison

As the news of convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester’s arrest is making waves, Senohe Matsoara, a former G4S employee assigned to guard the correctional facility where the former escaped after faking his death was also arrested.

Matsoara, together with Cornelius Sekeleni, Dr. Nandi’s father, appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Tuesday on charges of helping Bester escape.

The duo is also accused of arson for setting fire to Bester’s cell, as well as charges of defeating the administration of justice and fraud.

They are also charged with the murder of an unidentified man whose charred remains were discovered in Bester’s prison cell, apparently as a means of covering up his escape.

It is alleged that Matsoara allegedly reported for duty on a day he was not scheduled to work.

Interestingly this was also the day that Thabo Bester made his escape from Mangaung Correctional Centre.

Matsoara has since been dismissed from duty due to his involvement in assisting Thabo in his jailbreak.

Senohe Matsoara’s Lavish Lifestyle After Thabo Bester’s Prison Escape

Matsoara’s former colleagues at G4S claim that he lived a lavish lifestyle both before and after Bester’s escape, which would not have been possible with a monthly salary of between R15,000 and R18,000.

In January 2022, Senohe Matsoara posted a certificate from the Volkswagen Menlyn dealership congratulating him for purchasing a “beautiful Volkswagen T-Roc 2.0” on his Facebook page.

After he was suspended from work, he bought this car which costs more than R500,000.
